The fourth graders had the unique experience of visiting photographer Larry Fink's exhibit in the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC)! María and Carolina from Casa Santa Ana prepared a series of activities making connections between Fink's work and the Values unit as well as aesthetic concepts touched in Visual Arts class.
The students had the opportunity to gather throughout the different spaces in the gallery and learn about the themes explored in Larry Fink's artwork, such as equality, sportsmanship, love for music and community, and family life.
The students wrote poetry based on the artwork and shared their ideas about possible meanings.
There were photographic activities involved where students sent messages about their values through their photographs.
