Planting a "Kinder-Garden" as we learn about living things

As the Kinder Classes are now learning about how living things grow and change through Life Cycles, I asked them to help me with a little experiment. I shared with them that when I was their age, the grade level used to be called Kindergarten, which in German would translate to a "garden of children". I asked Kinder if they would help me create a "Kinder-Garden" in the classroom.

To do this, I would dig a "hole" for each one of them and they would be the beautiful seeds in my garden.

They would all be planted, then watered by the light of the moon.

When the sun came out, each child could grow into what they chose; any kind of plant, tree, fruit tree, bush or flower of their own imagination! Through these exercises we begin to understand the concepts of Form and Change by creating different shapes with our bodies and imagining that the transformation really takes place!
