I can't believe two years have passed so fast! It feels like they were in fourth grade yesterday...
Onwards to sixth grade!
This year we started off with a quick project connecting to well-being. Students made gorgeous drawings and acrylic paintings about protecting the oceans and joined Promar's yearly children's art contest. (click on the flier to see more information) Good luck!
Currently, we are building our knowledge about culture by learning about the Costa Rican tradition of the Mascaradas, and making connections to other cultural practices familiar to us. Students are gathering information in order to share their findings with their classmates and have an active participation in teaching each other. Student research is very valuable because the children can choose information that is relevant and meaningful to them.
